Occupational Services
The business and industrial community requires services that are readily available, competent, efficient, reasonably priced, and suited to its needs. Emergency Medical Center is designed and staffed to meet those needs, offering a full range of services to area employers in the following categories:
Treatment of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses:
Emergency Medical Center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of job-related injuries and illnesses without delay. Care is provided for most acute problems in our facility, but in cases where hospital admission is required, immediate transportation to a hospital is arranged and consultation with medical or surgical specialists is obtained, if required. The center is staffed with board-certified physicians and certified support personnel skilled in the delivery of occupational medical care. These services include the treatment of:
Lacerations | Eye injuries | Burns | Contusions | Fractures | Strains | Other work related medical problems.
In those cases where medication, crutches, splints, slings, etc. are required, these items are dispensed; thus a "one-stop" concept is our goal, with minimum delay and reasonable costs.
Diagnostic Testing:
The center has the equipment to provide necessary testing related to occupational medical care and evaluation including X-ray, hearing screening, electrocardiographs, and comprehensive laboratory facilities.
Physical Therapy:
For those injuries that could potentially result in extensive work loss, our center will administer physical therapy. Treatment of these injuries is started immediately; thus helping to speed up the recovery time and helping to reduce lost work hours.
Work Status Report:
An employee is given a work status report on every visit and a copy is mailed or faxed to employer keeping them informed of the employee's health.
Worker's Compensation Claims:
Our administrative staff is well trained to handle the "paper work" involved with Worker's Compensation claims efficiently and expediently. Forms come to you completed in every respect, requiring only your review. Disability compensation forms will be initiated when the injured employee will be disabled. Minor cases with no lost time can be treated and reported directly to the employer.
Communications:
Emergency Medical Center believes strongly in detailed communication with your organization and your employee so that your needs and the medical care of your employee can best be accommodated. Advice and counsel for employers in the areas of health programs, first aid requirements, and Worker's Compensation procedures are available to you. Our physicians are also available to discuss any case with you when the need arises.
